Chinderah Profile
Chinderah is an historic village stretched along the wide lower reaches of the Tweed River. Not only will you find a boat ramp, great fishing from the old Barneys Point Bridge and numerous riverside picnic spots but if you don't catch anything you can go to one of the best fish & chip shops in the local area.
Two historic cemetries contain the graves of original pioneering families and the South Sea Islander immigrants who were used to establish the sugar cane industry in the Tweed. Now you can wander through an art gallery, antique shop, relax in the cafe or have a cool drink in the hotel all beside the river.
With plans for a large marina in this quiet riverside township, Chinderah has the potential to be a real estate hotspot in years to come.
